How to Create a Discount Plan?

Creating discount plans can help attract and retain customers by offering promotional deals or specific discounts. Follow these steps to set up a discount plan, whether it's a promotional discount or a promo code discount.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Navigate to the Setup Module:
  1. From the top menu, click on Setup. This will redirect you to the setup module in a new window.


2. Access Discount Settings:
  1. In the setup module, find the Products option from the top menu and select Discount.


3. Create a New Discount:
  1. Click on Create Discount to begin setting up a new discount plan.


Enter Discount Details:
  1. Discount Name: Provide a name for the discount plan.
  2. Description: Add a brief description of the discount.
  3. Discount Type: Choose between Promotional or Promo Code. When setting up discounts, it's important to understand the difference between Promotional Discounts and Promo Code Discounts.
    1. Promotional Discount:
      1. This type of discount is used internally within your organization.
      2. You can directly link this discount to a specific storage unit or apply it to a contract at the time of booking in house.

    1. Promo Code Discount:
      1. This discount type allows you to generate a unique promo code.
      2. Tenants can use this promo code directly during the online booking process.
      3. Great for marketing campaigns, where customers can enter a promo code to receive a discount when they book online.

  1. Discount Entity Type: Select the applicable entities for the discount (e.g., Rent, Insurance, Service, Merchandise, or All).


Set Discount Validity:
  1. Discount Effective From Date: Enter the start date for the discount.
  2. Is Lifetime Validity: Enable this option to specify the discount is active for a lifetime.

  1. Valid Till Date: If Is Lifetime Validity is disabled, then enter the end date for the discount.


Configure Discount Period Details:
  1. Is Recurring: Enable or disable this option depending on whether the discount should be applied repeatedly.
    1. If recurring:
      1. Lifetime Recurring: Enable this if the discount should apply throughout the entire rental period.
      2. Specific Months: Specify the number of months the discount will be applied during the contract period.

  1. If not recurring:
    1. Buy N and Get N: Set up a discount where tenants who pay for a specific number of months in advance receive additional months for free.


    1. One-time Discount: Apply this discount to a specific invoice only once.

    1. Pay 1 and Occupy: This allows tenants to pay 1 EUR/USD/GBP for the first month and occupy the unit.


Choose Discount Value:
  1. Decide whether the discount will be a flat amount or a specific percentage.


Select User Type:
  1. Optionally, specify the user type that the discount applies to (e.g., General, Business, Students).


Link to Properties:
  1. Link the discount plan to one or multiple properties.


Save the Discount Plan:
  1. Once all details are entered, click Save to create the discount plan.
