How to Cancel a Contract?

StoRegister allows you to cancel a contract with a future move-in date. This is useful when a tenant changes their plans before the rental period begins. The system also ensures that any associated invoices are automatically reversed.

Prerequisites

Before cancelling a contract:

  • Ensure the contract has a future move-in date
  • Verify any invoices linked to the contract
  • Confirm cancellation details with the tenant

Steps to Cancel a Contract

  1. Navigate to the Contract Detail Page of the tenant.

  2. Click on the “Actions” button in the top-right corner.

  3. Select “Cancel Contract” from the dropdown.

  4. A pop-up window will appear:

    • Select the appropriate Cancellation Reason from the dropdown.

    • Add any Notes to provide internal context (optional but recommended).

  5. Click on “Cancel Contract” to confirm the cancellation.


What Happens Next?

  • An email notification will be automatically sent to the tenant to confirm the contract cancellation.

  • If any invoices were generated, the system will automatically reverse them by creating a credit note.

  • You can initiate a refund to the tenant from the specific credit note, if applicable.
